Sand Sculptors

This is the 1st place winner of 2006 event. This photo is the only one I did not take with my camera. I want to Thank Fitzy Snowman sculpting for permission to use this and to also share their link.
I wanted to finish the post I started last week with more photos of the sand sculptors and the results of the contest so here is what happened. The 2006 New England Sand Sculpting Invitational was a resounding success. Revere beach was transformed into a museum of sand displays. Sculptures will still be on display thru the end of the month, that is if they are not destroyed by the wind and rain we have been getting these past few days. All the master sand sculptors competed for over $15,000.00 in prize money as well as the coveted people's choice award. This event is truly one of New England's largest master sand sculpting competitions, featuring the most talented sculptors in the world. Sponsors reaped the benefits of their entire investment by receiving media coverage from such outlets as The Boston Globe, WHDH channel 7 and The New York Times as well as national attention from ABC's Good Morning America . They also receive exposure from the many spectators that attend this unique event. I have set up a link at the top of the post for more information and photos just click on the Sand Sculptors Title on top. Again we hope you enjoy them as much as we have.
This was the largest entry. Click on the link I provided to see the entire sculptor collection.
Don't know what place this entry came in.
The title of this is Junk Yard Dog
This entry took 5th place in the contest

A Day At The Beach

This is the one I liked best. Check out the eyes and features
New England Sand Sculpting Invitational Revere beach 2006. The largest master sand sculpting event in New England . This wonderful and unique event will run from Monday, 07/10/2006 thru Sunday, 07/16/2006 at Revere Beach, America's first public beach. The competition consists of three divisions; children’s, families, and open. They are always looking for new talent. My wife and I decided to go check it out and we both were glad we did because it really turned out to be a great day. I think most of the sculptures were just awesome. You can see for yourself in the few photos in this post. I do not know who won the contest as of yet because we left before the judges decided. I have set up a link on the Title of this post A DAY AT THE BEACH just click and it will have much more information for anyone who is interested. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did. I have more photos to show but I will put them on another post real soon.
This one was not finished yet but it still looks great.
The detail on this one is really something to see

Killer Move

I find this a very strange place to crash but that's (Willy)
Well it has been a week now since we moved and it is just starting to look like we may start living a somewhat normal way of life again. This move was a really tough one, between the heat of the summer and just getting to old to be doing this kind of thing. Anyway, we did it and life goes on. I want tell a little story about moving with a cat in the family. Our cat, name is Willy, is very much a big part of our family, I feel any cat lover knows what I mean. This move was not a good thing for him. It has been a week now and he still is not back to being himself yet. He is getting used to his new home but it is so different from the house he had, I know it just will take time and he will adapt. I had to show a few pictures of him and you can see he is quite the cat. I want to thank everyone who left a comment or email while I was in the moving process, and I will try and get back to writing my posts as before only from now on the stories will be about my travels thru out all New England not just Cape Cod like before, I will leave you now and get back to finishing all the final stuff that needs to be done. I hope to get back to doing some good stories about some really interesting places to go for all to enjoy. I will leave with a good restaurant in the city where I moved to called The Chateau in Waltham, Ma as usually just click on the Title at the top of the page Killer Move and get the Chateau Restaurant.
Our cat Willy is checking everything out and getting in the way
