Aptucxet Trading Post

Today I wanted to talk a little more about the town of Bourne and let you know about more sites of interest and the Aptucxet Trading PostMuseum came to mind. The windmill is on the grounds and is now a gift shop. It is located on the south side of the canal and is one mile from Rt. 6, off Shore Rd. The museum is a replica of a trading post built in 1627. Exhibits include 17th century furnishings, and Pilgrim, Dutch and Indian relics. President Grover Cleveland's private railroad station is also on the grounds a small fee is charged and picnicking is permitted and also the surroundings are nice and peaceful. The shop is open during the visitor season from 10:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and 2:00 - 5:00pm on Sundays. Admission tickets for the museum complex are purchased here and parking is in the nearby lot. I have set up a link you can click for all the information on the town of Bourne at the top of this post just click the Title Aptucxet Trading Post and you will get the web page for the Town of Bourne Historical Society.
